THE BABY THAT WAS BROUGHT OUT FROM, OPERATED UPON, AND RETURNED TO THE WOMB

If the story making the rounds is anything to go by, this baby was born twice! Guess this is the point where I say 'waawu!' Mother Margaret Boemer went in for her 16th-week routine ultrasound check for her third baby and the doctors observed a (Sacrococcygeal teratoma) tumor growing from the baby's tailbone.

The baby became more ill each day as her heart began to fail because the tumor was sucking her dry of blood. Boemer was advised to terminate the pregnancy, but doctors at the Texas Children's Fetal Center offer to carry out fetal surgery on her baby. So at 23 weeks and 5 days pregnant, Boemer underwent an emergency fetal surgery, led by a Nigerian doctor based in the U.S, Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye and his surgeon partner, Dr. Darrell Cass, of the Texas Children's Fetal Center.

In five (longest) hours, the doctors had removed 90% of this deadly tumour which had grown bigger than the baby, then put the baby back in the mother's womb, and sewed the womb shut again! dang!

Under close monitoring, the baby healed, and 12 weeks later, Baby Lynlee Hope was born again (literally) through C-section, weighing 5.3 pounds!

And at eight days, Lynlee had another surgery to remove the rest of the tumor, before being discharged to go home.

Now, what part of this story wows you the most?
